The Students for a Better Future (SBF) High School Scholarship Programme gives Scholars with academic promise, financial need and who display grit and resilience, an amazing opportunity to excel at some of the best high schools in Cape Town. We offer an opportunity for a life-changing educational journey.
The Foundation’s annual recruitment is currently underway; SBF representatives will be visiting primary schools across the Cape Town Metropole, meeting the top achieving Grade 6 learners.
SBF Scholarships cover tuition fees and provide an allowance for uniforms, books, stationery, sports equipment and school trips. SBF contributes towards transport costs and places some scholars in boarding houses at certain schools. Our holistic scholarship approach means that we also provide access to ongoing psychosocial and academic support. This combination of academic and social support extends to our Preparatory Programme in Grade 7.
Throughout high school, we provide structured academic and psychosocial support; subject choice and career path guidance and support in the transition to post-secondary education. We work to capacitate and engage with parents/guardians and ensure that all scholars are part of community service initiatives to reinforce their commitment to give back to family, community and country.
In order to apply for the Scholarship, learners must be in grade 6 in 2019, be born on or after 1 January 2007, have achieved at least a 65% aggregate in grade 5 final results and grade 6 June results, demonstrate financial need, and stay within 35 kilometers of the Cape Town CBD.
