Unlike on a safari at a game reserve, at the Elephant Sanctuary, you actually get an opportunity to get close to the elephants. The animals have been domesticated over the years and as a result, can be safely interacted with.

They do have professional and very knowledgeable guides on hand to lead you and your family on a journey of discovery into the world of these majestic creatures.

Perhaps the greatest attraction is that, at the Elephant Sanctuary, you will be able to touch, feed and walk with the resident elephants, hand-in-trunk.

The Hazyview Elephant Sanctuary is part of Elephant Sanctuary South Africa, which also runs two other amazing African Elephant Sanctuaries in Plettenberg Bay and Hartebeespoortdam.

Fun for the whole family at Hazyview Elephant Sanctuary

Choose from are four exciting elephant interaction programmes at the sanctuary. The Sundowner Elephant Experience is a unique experience that starts at 15h00 with a Trunk in Hand Elephant Interaction Program. You will also be guided to the Elephant Night Shelters and learn about these gentle giants.

You can also choose between the Ultimate Elephant Experience Tour, which features a similar offering.

As the name suggests, the Elephant Brushdown offers an opportunity to brush down the elephants as they start their day in the morning.

The Trunk-in-Hand Program is one of their popular offerings for obvious reasons.
