Advantage Tours was founded by Danie and Riette Bennett and has been a legal Boat-Based Whale Watching (BBWW) operator in the St Lucia section of the iSimangaliso Wetland Park, and neighbouring Richards Bay harbor since the early 90’s.

If your goal is to discover something new and to be entertained, you certainly will find their tour guides very knowledgeable about their region, its animals and plants. The company is actually passionate about preserving the St Lucia Estuary and its wildlife. Read more here…

Services at Advantage Tours also designed for families

The company got its start offering whale-watching in St Lucia and in Richards Bay, but has also expanded to offer up-close boat cruises with the hippopotamus, Nile crocodile and the estuary’s birdlife.

Advantage Tours also does Deep-sea Game Fishing charters and Big 5 Safaris at the nearby iMfolozi/Hluhluwe Game Reserves.

Looking for things to do over your St Lucia family holiday? Book a full day Beach and Bush Safari into the iSimangaliso Wetland Park with snorkelling at Cape Vidal beach if the tide permits.

Besides interesting guided walking trails, lasting 2,5 to 3hours,  outside the whale-watching season, they also offer Dolphin Ocean Marine Mammal cruises.

If you are planning an office function, family get-togethers, wedding,  birthdays or other celebrations, group or school outing? Their 40-seater vessel in Richards Bay is ideal for afternoon harbour cruises especially in peak whale-watching season.

You will be happy to know that your safety is paramount and the Advantage Tours’ vessels are inspected annually by the South African Marine Safety Authority (SAMSA). All their guides are registered with Tourism KwaZulu Natal and other authorities. They also frequently undergo relevant safety courses.

Reviews from people who have used Advantage Tours previously

“We booked a father and son deep sea fishing trip with them and it was stunning!!! Me and my two sons (9 & 11 years) had the best time under skipper Berno. He taught the kids everything about boat rules and fishing techniques. We caught Mahi-mahi and a Sailfish even saw dolphins swimming with the boat,” wrote Morne Fouche on their TripAdvisor page.

Dr Ricky S added; “We decided on short notice to undertake the Hippo Tour, and booked with the Advantage team. Boats are well maintained, and safety was observed at all times. The boat captain was very knowledgeable and shared a lot of information about St Lucia estuary, the hippos and crocodiles and birdlife. Two of their boats were operating, and I found them very considerate of the wildlife, allowing all participants to view the hippos, while not disturbing them. We enjoyed the tour, and got amazing shots and videos of the hippos, as well as sighted a few crocodiles. Birdlife was great and we saw many of the indigenous species. Definitely something worthwhile to put on your itinerary when visiting St Lucia.”
