There is something special about a farmstay getaway. A working farm is both intriguing and refreshing for a city dweller. When the farmstay offers their own fresh produce on the dinner table, well then it is even better.
Rocks & Roses Farmstay Is Just Such a Retreat.
Situated on the farm Bonnie Braes near Lochiel, this little piece of paradise is self-sustaining and completely off grid.
The buildings are run off solar energy and gas, and are supplied by fresh fountain water straight from the source.
At Rocks & Roses they embrace the ‘garden to table’ and ‘home-made’ way of life by using fresh farm produce wherever possible and offering authentic South African home cooking for breakfasts and dinners.
Cattle, sheep, chickens and pigs are all raised on the farm and they cultivate a variety of crops.
Breakfast and dinner are available as well as packed lunches, and guests are welcome to unwind in the lounge and enjoy the braai facilities in the garden.

The farmhouse boasts an expansive veranda and a gazebo in the garden where guests may enjoy sundowners, or gaze at the spectacular night sky.
For added convenience the farm has a small cash only shop where fresh seasonal farm produce may be purchased, including eggs, jams, homemade yoghurt and rusks.

One of the standout features of Rocks & Roses is its child friendly policy. It is an ideal choice for a family stay as children can explore the farm’s surrounds and interact with the farm animals from feeding chickens to petting goats. Pets are also welcome by prior request.
The beautiful garden with its rolling lawns is an ideal spot to relax with a book, enjoy a picnic, and there is plenty of space where children can play.
