Kids Connection had the great opportunity to meet and talk to the owner of Sweet Indulgence, Belinda Brass, and ask her all about her unique business.

Q. What services does ‘Sweet Indulgence’ offer and what events do you cater for?
We are a Port Elizabeth based Events Company specialising in stylised candy & dessert tables. We stock Luxury Candy & Sweets, Corporate Candy Gifts, Wedding Favours, Candy Gift Boxes and stylish Paper Party Ware.
We cater for weddings, engagements, bridal showers, baby showers, Bar/Batmitzvahs, matric dances, birthday parties, 21st’s, sweet sixteen’s, high teas, formal celebrations and corporate events.
Every luxury candy buffet is stylised to your individual requirements. Our packages are designed to suit all budgets and events and are customized to suit your unique taste, whether it’s simple and elegant or outrageously extravagant.
Q. What made you decide to open an events company that specialises in candy and dessert tables?
My son got married and they invited the children along with the parents, we were looking for something unique for the kiddies to enjoy at the wedding.
I did some research and decided on doing a candy table for the children at the wedding. Much to my surprise the adults absolutely loved the idea, and it grew from there.
Q. How long has the company been running in Port Elizabeth?
We have been running for four years and we service Port Elizabeth and the surrounding areas.
Q. What are candy buffets and candy tables and why do you recommend that clients have them at their events?
Candy Buffets are a fun way to encourage conversation and mingling amongst your guests while also enhancing the overall look of your event. Candy tables can be used at weddings as favours for your guests, leaving them with an everlasting memento of your occasion.
Kiddies love to be able to scoop up the sweets into their bags and it saves the parents going out and buying sweets.
Q. What sort of sweets and desserts do you supply?
Anything and everything- we hand make our colour co-ordinated tables, so that the sweets match the theme and the colour. The company recently signed a deal with an importer from the USA, and now have a wider variety of sweets on offer.
We supply any kind of mini desert that takes your fancy. We also do cake pops, macarons and themed cakes.
Q. What do you love about your job?
I absolutely love being creative and I love meeting people and making their special occasions memorable. I love making people happy and I always go the extra mile. Doing what you love makes you do it to the best of your ability.
