Situated in Gardens, Cape Town, Little Darlings Early Learning Centre and Creche provides exceptional child care for children from one to five years old.
Principal, Sharon Coetzee, a trained teacher with over forty years’ experience, and has studied child psychology and behaviour management, has a passion for teaching and working with children.
At Little Darlings the goal is to treat all children from diverse backgrounds and nationalities with the respect and love they deserve, and to develop independence.
The staff are hand-picked, trained teachers and are parents themselves.
All parents are on WhatsApp with the principal for clear communication throughout the day. They get daily video updates and photos of what their children are doing during the day.
At Little Darlings, the children get quality care and follow a daily educational program with different activities, all aimed at preparing the children for Grade R. The children are divided into three age groups – toddlers 1 to 3 years; pre-school 3 to 4 years; and the 5-year-olds for preparation for Grade R.
Outside activities are enjoyed in the shady garden with climbing, crawling and hanging frames, a slide and swings. There is a path for hopscotch and skipping ropes and a separate courtyard where toddlers ride their bikes and scooters.
Healthy eating is important for emotional and physical growth as well as for stamina and energy, and at Little Darlings all meals and snacks are included in the fees.
The clean and well-ventilated toilets and basins are on the children’s level, and include a nappy changing station.
Nap Time is important and each child has his own stackable and comfortable bed in the separate quiet sleeping room where all beds are sanitized after nap time.
The Centre is a safe and happy environment. The security gate is always locked and can only be opened by staff. There is 24/7 armed response call, and visitors are allowed by appointment only.
The centre is open all year round except for public holidays, one week in July and a month in December. The hours are 7am to 5pm from Mondays to Fridays.
