Accommodation at Giants Cup Wilderness Reserve
The reserve offers three cottages that are well spaced for privacy, on the edge of a pine forest, and near the lake.
Each cottage is non-smoking and sleeps either two, four or six guests. The cottages are comfortably and stylishly furnished with king size beds and ensuite bathrooms. A fully equipped kitchenette and open plan living area with a fire place leads onto a patio with braai facilities.
The main attraction being fly fishing, Giants Cup offers self-sustaining populations of brown and rainbow trout in the midst of an unspoiled wilderness.
Strict rules for fly fishing need to be adhered to in order to protect the system of self-stocking from natural recruitment and wild spawning in the Umzimkulwana River. Only fly-fishing tackle is permitted and a maximum of six rod tickets are issued per day.
Other activities in the area include birding, hiking, mountain bike trails, horse riding, river rafting and tubing, rock art sites, and a number of restaurants and pubs for the whole family to enjoy.
