The centre guarantees a highly specialised and welcoming environment for all families and is run by qualified Ultrasonographer, René Doubell, who started her training as a radiographer at NMMU in 2003.
As parents you will definitely be in the safest hands with René, who was notably selected to study Ultrasound at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology in Cape Town, in 2006.
She obtained her B-Tech degree in Ultrasound, after completing two full years of training at the world-renowned Obstetric Ultrasound Unit, in Tygerberg Hospital.
In Cape Town she gained invaluable experience and knowledge in Obstetric ultrasound scanning and she was awarded best academic and best Clinical student in her year.
She is also accredited with the Fetal Medicine Foundation in London, to provide mothers with accurate Down Syndrome screening.
René works with her assistant Eloise Goliath and both ladies strive to make your experience at the centre as pleasant and enjoyable as possible.
The centre uses state of the art GE Technology and offers- Early pregnancy detection, hearing of the heart-beat, First Trimester Down Syndrome screening (11-14 weeks), gender determination at 16 weeks, Second Trimester fetal anomaly, 3D/4D scans between 27 and 30 weeks and a Third Trimester growth scan.
René says, “At the Fetal Ultrasound Centre we provide our patients with a professional, informative and memorable ultrasound examination. We contribute to the early health of your baby by using the latest technology, our extensive knowledge of obstetric ultrasound techniques and fetal pathology”.
Rene is passionate about her work and cares tremendously for each of her patients. She loves sharing every moment that parents have with their unborn baby and making it a special experience.
